This policy explains what information hahatrip.net (“hahatrip”, “we”) collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little: you can read every page without an account, and we don’t run comments, newsletters or contact forms.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides are read, how long, from which country and device. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, browser and page information. We use this only in aggregate to decide what to write and update. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
- Server logs. Like every website, our server records requests (IP address, browser, page, time) to keep the site secure and working. Logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
- Images from partners. Hotel photos in our hotel cards are loaded from Agoda’s image servers, and author images may load from Gravatar. Loading an image sends your IP address and browser information to that server.
We do not sell personal information, and we don’t ask you for your name, email or payment details.
Affiliate links
Some links and buttons go to booking partners — currently Klook, Agoda and Trip.com. They are marked as sponsored, and pages that contain them show a short disclosure. When you click one, the partner may set its own cookies to record that you came from hahatrip, so we can earn a small commission if you book — at no extra cost to you. What happens on their sites is governed by their privacy policies: Klook, Agoda, Trip.com. We don’t receive your booking details — only aggregate reports of clicks and commissions.
Cookies and your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
- Share buttons on our pages are plain links — they don’t load Facebook, X or Pinterest scripts until you click them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and to object to its use. Because we don’t hold accounts or contact details, most data about visits sits with Google Analytics in aggregate form. To make a request, email us at the address below and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
hahatrip is a general travel guide and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Where data is processed
Our website is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Seoul, South Korea. Google Analytics data is processed by Google, which may store it in other countries.
